We stayed at a cozy yurt during our Easter weekend getaway. Despite the unpredictable weather, we felt incredibly snug and warm inside. The site was quiet and safe for our kids to play, and they even had a little play castle. The covered picnic area came in handy when it rained, allowing us to enjoy a barbecue. The facilities, including the toilets, kitchen, and showers, were spotlessly clean. The yurt had everything we needed, and the futons provided a comfortable sleep. The view of the passing clouds through the roof window was a lovely touch. We enjoyed exploring the nearby Gibside and even had delicious fish and chips from Fryers Plaice in Burnopfield. A great place to stay, and we'll definitely return. I highly recommend this getaway for a chilled-out and cozy experience.

Spacious and cozy Yurts that can sleep up to 6 people, with a wood burning stove that provides plenty of heat. The outdoor BBQ facilities and picnic tables were a great addition. The location was peaceful and offered beautiful views, with easy access to the nearby national park. Being able to spend the whole day at Gibside was a bonus.
The lack of outdoor lighting for the hot tub made it difficult to enjoy in the dark. It would have been nice to have some fairy lights or an outdoor light.

We had an amazing time at West Wood Yurts! The location was stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery and peaceful countryside. Our pod had everything we needed, from a fridge and powerful shower to a comfy bed and amazing views to wake up to. The hot tub was a great addition, and even the cows came to say hello while we were enjoying our morning dip. The yurts were off grid, providing a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We loved the well-thought-out layout and the fact that it didn't feel cluttered, even with our family of four. The customer service was excellent, and we can't wait to visit again!
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The yurt was warm and cosy, perfect for a stay in October. The log burner kept us warm throughout our stay. The yurt came stocked with everything we needed, including cooking and crockery items. The site is located near Gibside Estate, which was great for exploring. The outdoor spaces were fabulous for safe exploring and playing.
The futon beds were quite hard and uncomfortable. The walk back up the hill from Gibside Estate to the site was tiring.
